How to measure

1.

Paper against wall

Place a sheet of paper flat on the floor against a wall. Stand on it with your heel touching the wall.

2.

Mark longest toe

With a pencil held straight, mark the tip of your longest toe on the paper.

3.

Measure the distance

Use a ruler to measure from the edge of the paper (wall) to your mark in centimeters. This is your foot length.

Fit tips & brand notes

Nike tends to run small in many models, especially Dunks and Air Force 1s. Consider half a size up.

Italian brands (Diesel, Versace, Gucci) frequently run one full size smaller than US standards.

Converse Chuck Taylors typically run a full size large. Size down for the best fit.

New Balance tends to run true to size across most models and widths.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is this converter?+

Our converter uses standardized international sizing tables. However, sizes can vary by brand, model, and even production batch. We include brand-fit notes to help you adjust. For the most accurate result, measure your foot length in centimeters and use that as your starting point.

Why do Nike shoes run small?+

Nike uses their own proprietary lasts (foot molds) which tend to be narrower and slightly shorter than industry standard. This is especially true for lifestyle models like Dunks and Air Force 1s. Athletic running shoes like Pegasus tend to be more true to size.

What is the difference between Mondopoint and EU sizing?+

Mondopoint measures foot length in millimeters and is used in Japan and for military footwear. EU sizing uses the Paris point system, where each size equals two-thirds of a centimeter. Mondopoint is more precise because it directly measures the foot.

Should I size up or down if I am between two sizes?+

Generally, size up. A slightly loose shoe can be adjusted with insoles or thicker socks, but a tight shoe will cause discomfort. For athletic shoes, especially for running, sizing up half a size is recommended to account for foot swelling during activity.

Why is my foot length not matching my usual size?+

Foot size changes over time due to age, weight changes, pregnancy, and natural arch flattening. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement. Feet also swell throughout the day, so measuring in the afternoon gives the most representative result.
